$_sudoterm
v0.1 beta · self-hosted, MIT

Persistent terminals with superuser powers.

tmux + ttyd, but with a real UI, mobile support, AI assistance, and a one-command install. Runs entirely on your VPS — no SaaS, no telemetry, no lock-in.

Get started →See features
$ curl -fsSL https://sudoterm.com/install | bash
Runs on Ubuntu 22+ · Debian 12+ · Fedora 39+ · Arch · ~60s on a clean VPS

What makes it different.

The terminal you wish your VPS came with.

Survives disconnects
tmux-backed sessions stay alive through ssh drops, browser closes, and reboots. Reattach and pick up where you left off.
Designed for mobile
A keyboard bar for Esc, Tab, arrows, Ctrl-C. Bottom-sheet sidebars. Full copy-paste support. Real work on your phone.
Block-based output
Every command + its output is a card you can copy, share, or hand to AI. Like Warp — but the data stays on your box.
AI sidebar, BYO key
Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Deepseek — pick a provider, paste your key, ask anything. Keys are AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest.
One-command install
curl -fsSL https://sudoterm.com/install | bash sets up the daemon, cloudflared tunnel, systemd unit, and gives you a public URL in under a minute.
No vendor lock-in
MIT-licensed. Self-host on any Linux box. Bring your own domain in Phase 2. Your data, your keys, your terminals.

How it works.

  1. 1
    SSH or paste the installer
One command. Detects your distro, installs tmux + cloudflared, registers a subdomain.
  2. 2
    Open the URL it prints
First-run wizard sets a password and (optionally) an AI key. Done.
  3. 3
    Work from anywhere
Phone, laptop, friend's machine. Your sessions are still there.

Install now.

Runs on any Linux VPS. Free forever, self-hosted, MIT-licensed.
